Deep freeze with foam on inside might work too without having to build a box however I'm not sure metal and plastic is going to be better than wood for sound.

Worth a try though.

One word of caution with this approach ... be careful what mic you use inside the box and how loud you turn up the amp.  There's an SPL limit to most mics and if you crank things super loud in a small enclosed space like that you could end up blowing out mics.  That said most mics are fairly robust, but it's worth checking out if you're putting an expensive mic in there ;)
