Chasing The Wind (PVD, Pleasuredome, Stoman)

Here is a song in three versions (male, female and duet). The duet version is a result of cut & paste.

The recording quality of the female vocal was very bad (lots of hiss). I did my best to fix what could be fixed. The female singer and the bassist are from Kompoz.

Tks for giving this a chance, it was interesting that I had a lyric already for this.  Sela and Steve sound great alone and the duet changes the feel in a good way.

Yes, a nice coincidence. If I recall correctly, we did not even have to do any changes to the bedtrack and/or to the existing lyrics, just create a suitable vocal melody on top of it.

Both Sela and Steve did a very free interpretation of the original (Vocaloid) guide vocal, and I think the fact that both took a very different approach made it possible to cut and paste the two voices together and create a duet version that actually seems to work.

I only wish the female vocal sep had been recorded with a better sound quality, but I think the result is still enjoyable and does not make anybody's ears bleed. Least I hope so.

Another good song Steffen, it reminds me of your other one I just listened to ' Take a Chance ' ( until the chorus at least )

Sounds like you did a decent job with the hiss on the female vocal.

Yes, the drums are pretty much the same in "Take A Chance" and "Chasing The Wind", that makes them sound very similar at first even though they are very different otherwise. I realized that too when they were both done.

That's nothing...Doc pointed out that I had written a new song, that started with exactly the same 5 or 6 notes for the vocal melody as one of my previous song

That's a very widespread recipe for commercial music. Make a hit and recycle it as often as you can.
