Etched Upon your Heart
Tricia Dovidio (c) 2010

Am
Daydreaming, driving down
a city road
G
do you see my face
Am
the breeze that whispers
when you're all alone
G
does it call my name?

Dm
eternities come and go
Am
but your first love you always know
G                           Am
is my love etched upon your heart?

when our old song comes
on the radio
do you reminisce?
while watching movies
 bout young love
do you think of my kiss?

eternities come and go
but your first love
you always know
is my love etched upon your heart?

Bridge:
F
So young, so innocent
Am
chasing a dream
F
learning what we think
D
that love should mean
F
too much, too immature
Am
to make it last
F
but don't the memories
G
bring us back?

older, wiser with a new romance
does she look like me?
a second fire has a better

chance
if love is meant to be

eternities come and go
but your first love helps you grow
is my love etched upon your heart?

solo:

repeat bridge here?

(forgot to record that)
Bridge:
So young, so innocent
chasing a dream
learning what we think
that love should mean
too much, too immature
to make it last
but don't the memories
bring us back?

but in reality you can't go back
the innocence is gone
the first love has left it's mark
and somehow done it's job

reality takes control
the first love shapes the soul
forever etched upon your heart

reality takes control
the first love shapes the soul
forever etched upon your

heart

Tricia... Great song!! I really got attached to this one.  Love it!!  And you delivered a beautiful and intimate vocal performance.   :)

Andy... What can I say?  You always deliver at a high level!  No easy task considering the sheer volume of projects that you're a part of (take a bow, Dude).  And the flutes and organ parts you added here really coloured the song tastefully.  I can't imagine the song without them now.  8)

Well done to you both!!

Thanks for letting me take part.   :)

Frank

Thanks so much Frank, much appreciated :). Well, Im a big fan of your guitar playing, and it was your parts which sparked off the musical direction, as well as Tric's melody of course. Nice acoustics, and a tasteful solo and fills!

Re large voume of projects, I think I should get a life..... ;D

As you are too Tric. You have a talent for writing these catchy songs, be it a ballad or a rocker.

And your singing is great  :)

Andy

Well done gang, you produced a great track here.

Interesting lyrics, a nice intimate vocal by Tricia - really good arrangement , well played and topped off with a vey decent mix too.

Bravo :)

We never finish a mix... we simply abandon them.
You can't polish a turd, but you can always spray paint it GOLD
Great songs are not written, they are re-witten

Hey Mark,

Much appreciated but Frank and I didn't actually sing :)  >:D >:D, that was the talented Ms Dovidio on vocals:).

But yes the guitars are superb.

Thanks Tricia, you sang this beautifully.

This is right up there with Easier For Me and just one below Prisoner :)

Andy

I'm listening to this tonight with decent headphones, and I just love what you guys did! So many pretty sounds in there.

Really nice.  :) :)
