A prog-rock/jazz-rock-fusion instrumental.

composition and bass: Gary Pownall (floouk)
guitar and mix:  George Williams (napoleonboot/guitargeorge)
keyboards: Jay Schankman (j)
drums: John Wooten (jwoo10)

We started this track in a burst of activity 4 years ago, and did almost all the tracking back then, but it ground to a halt as online collaboration projects sometimes do. Where we left it had so much promise that it nagged away at me ever since, so in the last month I finished the guitar tracking and with Gary's advice and input we gathered up all the seps and mixed it. We're very happy with the final result, we hope you enjoy it.

Any musical pedants out there might enjoy counting along to the 7/4 and 10/4 bars in the section from 2'00 - 2'53.

George

Hi guys,

This is absolutely top drawer. One of the best pieces of program rock music I have heard from this site.

While the keys and bass (wonderful tone) are of the highest class, the guitar and the drums are scintillating.

George - great tone and playing, and the drums remind me how good John really is.

Thanks for posting. I may have to expand and complete Darth Vader!

And a fab job you've done on mixing this to George. Congratulations and well done!

Thanks for your good wishes Andy.  Yes, the boys certainly came through didn't they? Not to denigrate anyone whatsoever but I agree with you that John's drum part is superb. The way he handled the middle section is staggering.  An absolute pleasure working with them. 😁

Thanks Andy. The original composition by Gary was an inspiration for some fine playing by all.

Paulo - thanks. Ouch?

Andy, I am happy to revisit Darth Vader, or maybe something new.. Lando Calrissian?. I seem to recall Gary referring to me as his "discordant friend" on Darth Vader, when I just thought I was playing some colourful harmony - LOL!
