NickT says: Zoom, Messenger rooms, Skype? They would work too.
NickT says: i used to have a chat on here. Let me look into it!
Albino says: Joking aside. I think you have a great idea there.
AndyG6508 says: Haha Steve true. I was taling with Mike (snowdogUK) recently and it was great discussing our songs and the background to them. Lots of interesting little anecdotes too.
Albino says: Nice idea ANdy!
More work for Nick!!! lol.
AndyG6508 says: Morning Nick, Wouldn't it be nice if we created a place where we can pick a tune from a finished section and discuss it, e.g. what we like about it, how it was written and recorded etc. I guess I am starved of musical chat Smiley
AndyG6508 says: "Just the place for a Snark!" the Bellman cried,
     As he landed his crew with care;
Supporting each man on the top of the tide
By a finger entwined in his hair.

"Just the place for a Snark!  I have said it twice:
That alone should encourage the crew.
Just the place for a Snark!  I have said it thrice:
What I tell you three times is true."
NickT says: This may not be everyones cup of tea, but give this a listen:
NickT says: They call me the walrus!
They call me the walrus!

Sold my niece to Edwin Meese
And I wonder what life's about
Talked of tires while your dog caught fire
And I wonder what life's about
AndyG6508 says: Sticking to the walrus theme....sitting on a cornflake waiting for the van to come...goo goo joob ...joob joob
napoleonboot says: Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings
AndyG6508 says: So said the tortoise to the hare.
The time has come the walrus said to speak of many things......
NickT says: Well...Slow and steady wins the race!
Albino says: MCS seems to be running very slowly today, or is that just me?
NickT says: Grin Thanks Billy!  Cool
Billy says: Those odd little quirks are what makes this site so.........irresistible!
Reba1994 says: Thank you
Albino says: yes, thanks guys
Stoney says: Well done guys  Grin
AndyG6508 says: Hear Hear!!! Thanks to Mark and NickT for all the care and hard work in keeping this site alive.
NickT says: I want to thanks Gerk (Mark) for taking time this Mothers Day Weekend to play Whac-a-mole with the forum software and keeping the site going. We have decided to baby this site along until Mark has time to implement MCS 2.0. Hang in there. I am so glad many of you are back making music here.
Gerk says: Never used the local storage option.  Not only does it not work correctly, it's a very bad option in the first place that SMF probably should have never tried to use.  Same holds true for their database session approach.
usalabs says: Hey Gerk, I think this may work for a long time, because I checked the cookie storage in my browser, and this site now only sends out just the one cookie, whereas before, it sent out 2, so I presume you disabled local storage in the server settings, which I read about doesn't work if enabled when using SSL.
Gerk says: I've kicked it again, sessions are working. Not sure for how long.  One last hail mary attempt at a fix, but I'm thinking that this software might be nearing EOL.  Stand by folks, will have to consider how to move this forward.
Gerk says: None of the custom collaboration code will work with any newer versions of this software, this is where the issue lies.  The hack that we had to load for it to work with modern PHP seems to have caused some issues with this and I'm at a loss.  I've tried the GC adjustments usalabs, nothing seems to help.  It might be time to retire this forum software.
