Original composition: Neil Swansong
Lyrics: Johnny Williams and Marc Barnette

Vocals and all backup: Christina Britton
Drums: Raul Rodriguez
Organ (B3) Al Bacon
Bass, Keys: Andy Gupta
Mixing/Mastering: Steffen Offermann

and the lyric...

Johnny

(vs)
Johnny likes to think he's a ladies man
an' now he's found another lady to play
A fake Rolex and a cruise ship tan
Am I supposed look the other way

I sent a text to all my friends
now they're knockin' on my door
they've come here to recommend
a few changes to our decor...

(ch)
O Johnny hasn't come home lately
I hear he found himself another pet
another poor sap who will call baby
for a ride in his old corvette
So the girls an' I are re-decoratin'
in a style that we call regret

(vs)
Remember that new dining set
Resting on the persian rug
it goes real well with the TV set
if you can find 'em underneath the mud

(vs)
The walls look good in vivid red
with the floors all painted black
a mirror used to hang above our bed
well now you see those ugly cracks

(ch)
Johnny hasn't come home lately
I hear he found himself another pet
another poor sap who will call baby
for a ride in his old corvette
So the girls an' I are re-decoratin'
in a style that we call regret

(vs)
the living room smells like someone died
an' the bathroom could use some work
But, it goes real nice with the pack of lies
from a wannabee Romeo jerk

(vs)
I'd pay good money to see his face
we really nailed his style
there are broken things all over the place
an' his clothes are in a burning pile

(ch)
Johnny hasn't come home lately
he found himself another pet
another poor sap who will call baby
for a ride in his old corvette
So the girls an' I are re-decoratin'
in a style we call regret

Johnny hasn't come home lately
he had a blonde and wants a brunette
well you might think i'm crazy
but honey, I ain't finished yet

Thanks for letting me get my hands on this wonderful song, Neil!

I think you forgot Andy Gupta (bass, keys) and figsound (I don't know his real name) on drums. The full list of credits should read like this IIRC:

Vocals: Christina Britton
Lyrics: John Williams
Guitars: Mark A. Shrider
Bass, Keys: Andy Gupta
Drums: figsound
Composition: you. ;)
Mixing/Mastering: Steffen Offermann

Regards,
  Steffen

great to see this in the finished forum.
it was a pleasure working on this tune.
i would like to give an extra shout out to Johnny for recruiting me to work on this even though it was out of my comfort zone.
Johnny did a fantastic job pushing this song forward.
of course it started with a great groove created by Neil.
Then Johnny's lyrics helped move it to the structure we came up with.
And the glue that pulled it all together is the rhythm section of Andy and Figsounds.
***adding in the missed flavoring of Catfish --- when vanilla just ain't enough. thanks Al.
The icing on this already awesome cake is Christina's vocals --- playful & sassy.
and the a la mode...?...(you can't have cake without ice cream) what can I say about the mix Steffen gave us? superb as we've come to expect.
I am so proud to have been a part of this tune
It was great to work with each and everyone of you.

thanks...

Mark

hey lady and gentlemen' yall,

I can only echo(e of resonance  :P) what Mark put together so well.

A true collaborative effort, with everyone pitching in with loads of good ideas!! Initial bed (Neil), lyrics - Johnny (he redid his lyrics more times than I redid my bass Steffen  :D), Subsequent spade work and guitar (Mark), super vocals (Christina McHood), organ - Catfish??, Drums - Raul and lastly a great job in mixing this beastie - Steffen.

It was a blast!
Andy

Indeed, it has. Neil probably unchecked the attachment box without noticing it. But the files are still on the thread in Studio "A":

MP3:
http://www.musicianscollaboration.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=9484.0;attach=49220

APE:
http://www.musicianscollaboration.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=9484.0;attach=49227

But be quick, I'll remove the APE pretty soon!

Regards,
  Steffen
