Steffen, you successfully fixed the 'thin' sound of the old mix  Much better - Can hear and feel the drums & bass now

I do hear quite a bit of distortion on the vocal now though, and on the whole the mix is quite "dull" with some of the instruments seeming to fight for space.  This may be a 70's sound that you wanted ? Did you use some tape saturation type plugin ?  It reminds me of listening to my old cassette tapes as a child on my HiFi with the top end roll off and distortion.    It's a bit like finding and old blanket..very comforting in a certain way 

I preferred the hotter version BTW , I think the extra compression worked.

Thanks, Mark! Yes, indeed, I was aiming at a 70's sound (like I usual do), but it turned out thicker than I wanted it. I'm also not satisfied with the toms ...

I think the bass and kick, while both occupy their own parts of the frequency spectrum, together are a little too fat for this song.

The drums are the most difficult part in this mix, actually. Quite challenging. I'll see if I can adjust the mix some more.

Ok, I've come to the conclusion, that the hot mix/master does not work at all. It destroyed the song.

This here is my final mix and master (two masters actually, one at DR11 and one at DR12). This song must breathe.

I remixed this song again. Some of the seps are a BIG challenge due to technical issues, so it remains a compromise, but I think it's a lot better than before.
