Hi MCS,

I take great pleasure in presenting this 2014 remix of Changes, which was first recorded a few years ago.

The wonderful end result is owed to Frank, who worked up a stunning mix, while adding rhythm and fill guitar parts.

Most of the performances are the original takes, namely from Steve (vocals), George (Lead guitar) and J (piano). Listening to these once again reminds me of the sheer talent that exists on this forum.

The rhythm section is new, Erik played the drums and I took the opportunity to re-record the bass and Hammond organ parts.

Frank's guitar contributions blew me away. So many lovely layers of guitar arps, fills and sonics. I am hearing something new with every listen.

Thanks again guys, and specially you Frank, you have enhanced this song way beyond belief.

Andy

Changes (c) Andy Gupta 2010, 2014

Intro/Interludes/Outro: Bm/G/F#m

       Bm                                      Em
Like newly opened eyes that see a first sunrise
  G          A                Bm
I see the world that surrounds me
       Bm                     Em
As I look around I find time is slowing down
       G            A           Bm
And now I am ready for changes

I used to think that speed could give me what I need
Find myself in tomorrow
Why did it take so long to see that I was wrong
I can feel changes in me

Em   A    F#m   Bm
Changes in my life
Em              A   Bm
That help me realize
      Em           A            F#m   A    G
If I opened my mind I am no longer blind
     Em    A   Em     F#m
My eyes see things anew

When you live each day the same yet hope the world will change
You're on the road to madness
You can leave behind regret with that one little step
Turn and face those changes

Changes in my life
And now I realise
If I opened my self I am no longer choked
My heart feels things anew

Em   A
Changes.......
        F#m    Bm
Have set me free
G                  A          Bm
Changes..... a different me
Em   A
Changes........

Outro: Bm/G/F#m

Robert DePriest: Lyric
Steve McAndrew: Vocals
George Williams: Lead guitar

Glad you approve Steve!!

Your vocal is very David Byron-esque and the long sustained vocalization near the end brings a lump to the throat everytime I hear it.

Great stuff all around, and the vocals are first class!

This is the kind of songs I would do if I could.

  Steffen

Indeed, Steve's vocals are great!  As are all the parts from all involved!

Andy... Thanks for all your kind words, for letting me take part, and for ALL the great songs you consistently put out.  I don't know how you do it, really...

Hi Frank,

You're welcome.

Re the songs turning out well, as I remarked in a post elsewhere, it's always been with a lot of help from my friends :)

Thanks so much Paul. I am sure Robert would enjoy the accolades from a fellow lyricist!

We never finish a mix... we simply abandon them.
You can't polish a turd, but you can always spray paint it GOLD
Great songs are not written, they are re-witten

Thanks CD!  I'm always learning stuff with every mix I attempt.  And it really seems like the more I learn, the more I realize that I have soooooo much more to learn.   :o

I appreciate your kind words!   :)
