Our own tribute to Deep Purple, specifically Throw My Bones From the new album Whoosh! (video of original)

  • Vocals/Guitar/Mastering: George Williams (napoleonboot)
  • Keyboards/Mix: Gary Miller (gbm)
  • Bass: Andy Gupta (AndyG6508)
  • Drums: Stephen Smith (Albino)

I am very proud of the end result, all the guys gave great performances and were a pleasure to work with (again). We are also pleased to have added a proper ending, the original fades out!  >:D   Cheap Purple are of course available for Weddings and Bar Miztvahs, global pandemics notwithstanding.

Throw My Bones - lyrics

I don't know what lies ahead
It's all a mystery man, I heard it said
You do your thing, you do your best
I take a guess at what happen next

All I've got is what I need
And that's enough, as far as I can see
Why should I walk into the great unknown
When I can sit here, and throw my bones

I hear the future is so divine
But I'll just wait until I get a sign
'Cause what I've got here, what I'm holding in my hand
Is better for me than some promised land

All I've got is what I need
And that's enough, as far as I can see
Why should I walk into the great unknown
When I can sit here and throw my bones

What's the rush (yeah), who's to say?
You can't escape tomorrow, it's another day
I'm hanging here, I'm here on solid ground
'Cause heaven's full, or closing down

All I've got is what I need
And that's enough, as far as I can see
Why should I walk into the great unknown
When I can sit here and throw my bones
Oh yeah

Andy, we've probably done getting on for a hundred songs together, and your playing and sound was better than ever on this. :)

As always, it's a pleasure to work with you.

great job all! Andy's bass super tight, Steves Drums spot on, George's guitars I'm impressed that you played this so well. Better than Morse. I barely touched Andy's bass part, just slid a couple notes to fit better, and a few notes on the guitar solo. Vocals are great. Didn't have to touch Steves drums at all. Everything fell into place.

Nicely done all.

I had a blast playing this.
Everybody has done such a fantastic job.

George surprised me with his guitar skills, despite already knowing he's an awesome guitar player.

ANdy's bass is sounding the best Ive ever heard. Great playing and great production

Those strings are fantastic Gary, as is your mix. Great work.

Thanks for letting me be a part of this.

Looking forward to that video George  ;)

Steve.

I listened to the youtube video you posted in the other thread with Deep Purple and you guys did an amazing job with this!  Sounds like maybe you could teach them a thing or two!

Thanks ,guys, for the nice comments about the bass track.

In turn, everyone pitched in incredible parts.

George, it was nice to hear your guitar playing and you managed to pull off that impossible solo. Impressive.

Gary, you rcreated the original keys lines note for note. Very well done. Good mix too..

Steve, great drumming, tin the pocket. The drums sound incredible when the song starts!
