What a Mix Nick 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

The lyrics are :-

Wednesday's Child (Wood/McAndrew)

The day approaches when you travel so far away
Though it's for the best now, I'm sad it's so many miles away
So much on your horizons, so much to see and so much to learn
My day dawns as your night approaches
Though we share the same sun, the whole world's between us

You are so fair now and you'll grow so wise
A little woe there, but there's a sparkle in your eyes
Long is your journey, though you'll soon arrive
Forever my Thursday and Sunday's child
Leave me to smile as a Wednesday's child

The tapestry that's our lives is a rich and a wondrous place
At times foreboding, other times it's so full of grace
All we need to go on is the feelings inside that were born to grow
You'll never depart from my thoughts
You'll always be here in my heart of hearts because

You are so fair now and you'll grow so wise
A little woe there, but there's a sparkle in your eyes
Long is your journey, though you'll soon arrive
Forever my Thursday and Sunday's child

No-one said it would ever be easy
Separation makes our heart's grow fonder
Moving on from our yesterdays to the world ahead and our unity

You are so fair now and you'll grow so wise
A little woe there, but there's a sparkle in your eyes
Long is your journey, though you'll soon arrive
Always my Thursday and Sunday's child

Never on a Tuesday

Ooh Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday
Oh You'll never be, never be too far
Ooh Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday
Oh You'll never be too far away

It is based around the old poem :-

Monday's child is fair of face; Tuesday's child is full of grace;
Wednesday's child is full of woe; Thursday's child has far to go;
Friday's child is loving and giving; Saturday's child works hard for a living.
But the child that is born on the Sabbath day, is fair and wise, good and gay

Steve,

Just went back and pulled up the original and I do have your seps. Unfortunately, the outro snare and kick are cut off. I think that is why I went with the loops. But the rest of your take sounds good. 8)

Thanks,

Nick

Thanks Steve,

It is good to see you at the site! I think I can slice and dice to get that outro to work if you want a copy for your collection.

Let me know!  8)

Hmm.. Missed this one. Sounds dreamy. It's a really full mix. Pretty busy stuff. It's really a great song. Steve sounds great as per usual and the lead guitar is kickin'. If I was to nitpick I think it could use some thinning out here and there. The vocals and backing and keys and... gets really full. Doesn't seem to take a breath once in awhile. Not sure if I'm keen on the drums. Seems to be a lot of splashes & rolls. I think some steady laid back drumming would be nice to help it breathe?

LOL I never pick apart a song. Sorry Nick :-[ Great mix for sure. That's never a problem. More to do with the composition. Maybe the middle eight could drop out a bit? Let the drums back off a bit during the lead guitar? Lots of rolls going on.  ???  It just seems to keep powering along.

Dave,

Thanks! I do have that problem with The Project's tunes...All the parts always sound great so it's hard to thin the heard.

Thanks for the critique. I am down to final mixes and this is the time to tweak!

Cheers,

Nick

  • Just another guitarist.
Sounds real good guys. Guitars are really nice, well, everything is real nice, but those guitars, love them.

I'd have to agree with Dave's assessment of it being kinda full, and powering on. Haha, other then that, awesome stuff guys!

Dan.

I like the production...sounds very "Testified". Nice arrangement and performaces :)

I always find Mr Pleasuredome's lyrics very poetic; always penned well.

Thanks Jeff, TBH I often feel someone else is pushing the pen, because when I revisit songs I find it hard to believe that I WROTE THAT!!!
