Mixing Drums? This will help!

Hi gang -

If you are like me, I find drums one of the hardest things to mix well. I came across this guide.

Mixing With BFD

Explanation from KVR:

FXpansion has released a new, free, PDF format guide to mixing and engineering BFD's multi-channel sounds. The guide covers the basics of EQ and compression of various drums and microphones, mixing your drums to work with the rest of your mix, selecting and shaping drums for particular styles, and concludes with a step-by-step example of a drum mixing session to which EQ and compression are applied in stages, with audio examples of each stage.

Mixing With BFD is available as a free download from FXpansion's web site, in Adobe PDF format.

This is a great read and the compression and eq informations can be used on live as well as non-processed samples.

Dave - No, But I have used it. The samples are about as dry as you would get from mic'd real kit. That is why I think all the eq and comp settings would apply to any sampled kit or real kit. EZdrummer is cool.
