Written inspired by sci-fi movies and psychological thrillers...mostly done off-site until Argle once again helped out the sonics with a fine mix.....

Thanks for listening!

The Cell (c) Lyrics & Music: Andy Gupta 2008/2009:

Intro:

When you look into the other side
The grass seems a little greener
But if you look a little deep inside
Then the cracks begin to show...

To get through life we wear a smile
Concealing real feelings
Pressurized to keep it inside
To appear ordinary......

Chorus 1:
(Help)
Can you help
Can you get through this shell
Hold my hand while my demons escape me
help
Can you help
It's been an eternity
Can you help me get out of this cell

In this human form does a soul reside
Does blood flow through these veins
De-sensitized with a hardened heart
Is there any hope for me.....
Do you think you can set me free
Or am I here to be used
Don't come to me for fancy clues
Just step into my blues

Chorus 2:
Can you help
Can you help
Find a way out of living hell
Hold my hand while my demons assail me
Oh please help
Can you help
To retain sanity
Can you help me break out of this cell

-Solo-

Repeat chorus 1 & 2

End verse:
Can't you see I'm trying so hard
To break this evil spell
So don't come to me with your fancy words
Just step into my cell

Personnel on "The Cell":

Chris Powers - lead and backing vocals
Adam Rodeh - guitars including solo
Andy Gupta - bass, guitar and keyboards

A woman is on trial for beating her husband to death with his guitar collection.
The judge says "First offender?"
The woman says "No, first a Gibson, then a fender."

Whenever you like. :) If you have an idea, just tell me! I'm not composing songs myself at the moment, but I'll probably start again in a couple of weeks.

Steffen,

Sounds like a plan, do you have any prog rock/rock keyboard riffs lying around I can listen to? That could spark off a few ideas!

I'd like to base the tune around a catchy keyboard figure if possible

I'll have to browse my archive. But if a keyboard riff is all you need, I can certainly create a new one on short call. ;)

Any particular Styx song you'd like to use as a guide line for sound/arrangement/style?

  Steffen
