Stoned On My Peach

All change!

This came unexpectedly from a competition that Donna is currently involved with - the 50/90 tracks competition. Donna actually penned this one afternoon whilst eating a bowl of fresh fruit.
I saw the lyrics for Stoned on my peach and asked her if I could compose something for them.
I originally had a sort of Randy Newman idea that I wanted to try but it morphed into a full blown big band bonanza. It took a while to get all the instrumentation together...but I so enjoy this type of music. Oh Well!

Nice job Billy...as per usual.

Wouldn't have reconized your voice on this. You sound a bit different for some reason. Maybe it's the style of music. Big production!! Does have a bit of Randy Newman/Big band feel. Cool stuff.

I was actually embarrassed to show these lyrics to Billy, because they're so...well...corny (in a fruity kind of way).

Billy's wonderful lavish production just cracks me up, and has brought a smile to a lot of faces. And that's what it's all about, eh?

(By the way, the 50/90 thing isn't a competition as such. It's more a challenge, which is to write 50 lyrics/songs over a 90-day period. It began on July 4 and finishes on October 1. There are about 160 active participants, each with her/his own personal goal. When I started, I figured I'd be happy if I ended up with about 20 lyrics and a handful of collabs but already I'm on # 33 plus over a dozen collabs.

Amazing how a challenge puts pressure on the Muse.

Wow! What a knockout tune Donna & Billy! The lyrics are an absolute scream...very reminiscent of the Jazz greats and Billy's performance is totally off the hook...man, you're in a league of your own bro, a one man midi orchestra here...this is a real jaw dropper...congrats!
