WEll - here's the first EVER song of mine to be finished .... woooooo hooooo  :D ;D :D ;D :D ;D

Thanks to everyone for realising this so well - Jay's vocals are just amazing (are all the lyric tweaks in there?), Kenny's bass is perfection and Stoney's drums are awesome :) and it was so much fun that I'll have to get another one going now   :P

But before that .... the video  :o

Enjoy :)

Guitars/music/mix - AndyD - Docca3
Bass - Kenny - Kenny B
Drums - Ian - Stonehead
Vocals - Jay - HDA

Cries of the Dead

Snow falls, can hardly stand
Trudgin' through this frozen land
Can't feel, a pain in my head
Can only hear The Cries of the Dead

How did we get this far
Don't know where we are
The end comes, cruising red
And we give in ... to
The Cries of the Dead

--------------------------------------
(verse 1)
They came down from the mountains
With murder in their eyes
They slaughtered all the innocents
The young, the old, the wise
They stole our homes, they purged our souls
They took our liberty
They walked us round the world in chains
While crying to be free

(verse 2)
They worked us through the night and day
They worked us to the bone
Evil all around us
In hearts made of stone
They drove us to insanity,
They drove us to rebel
They drove us from a path of peace
Into the jaws of Hell

(chorus 1)
We pray for our deliverance
We wait for death to come
We pray for never-ending sleep
When our lives are done
We asked for help from all our Gods
And from Devils in our heads
But the only sound we ever heard ....
Were the Cries of the Dead

(verse 3)
We fought for life, we fought for love
We fought 'till we were spent
We fought for everything we thought
And everything that meant
We fled into the wilderness
We thought we could be saved
But those left behind would never find
Our lonely shallow graves

(chorus 2)
We prayed for our deliverance
Or we prayed for death to come
We prayed for never-ending sleep
When our lives were done
We asked for help from all our Gods
The devils in our heads
But the only words we ever heard ....
Were the Cries of the Dead

(solo)

rpt Chorus 2

------------------------------------------

We lie in deadened sleep
No pain now, no one to weep
Our spirits rise from where we bled
And so we join ....
The Cries of the Dead.

Yup I really like it.  Been watching this since your opinions post.  Never imagined my vox doing it but gave it a try and if you like, I like!

The bass and kit really make this move.

Wall of guitars are very cool!!

Great intro! :)

This song has a touch of Pink Floyd. Very nice.

Ooooooooh, lovely and dark... 8) :)
Cool atmospheric beginning, and compelling when it leaps into its upbeat groove.
(Who wrote the excellent lyrics?)

Great job all round, guys. Kudos! :)

Wow - thanks Donna ... lyrics are mine with modifications by Jay .... I like dark and brooding - that's what comes from listening to Black Sabbath as a youngster :o

There ya go Andy,.. no one better to critique your lyrics than Donna.  You have nothing to worry about.  Keep it up.

(btw,. my modifications were only for phrasing purposes,.. all the great content was Andys)
