Continuing along in the "now-for-something-completely-different" vein, here's another epic musical piece from Billy.  ;)  A video is on the agenda. I already have a number of drawings but need to conjure up the remaining graphics.

I hope you enjoy it.

Music/Arrangement/Instruments: Billy Playle
Vocals: Bree Noble
Lyrics: Donna Devine

The Keeper of Hearts

Intro
My people's ancient legends claim
A star begins to die
Each time a human heart breaks
Or lonely children cry
I was summoned from another place
To do what must be done
To keep night skies from emptying
Above the third rock from the sun

(Chorus)
I'm the keeper of hearts
A weaver of hearts
And alone by the light of the moon
I tenderly pick up the pieces
And thread them onto my loom

(v1)
Tears of a girl
Her innocence lost
A tiny new heartbeat inside her
The shock-eyed boy
Who'll abandon her now
Too frightened to stay beside her
Tears of the man
Whose life turned out wrong
Tears of the woman
Whose dreams are all gone

(Chorus)
I'm the keeper of hearts
A weaver of hearts
And alone by the light of the moon
I tenderly pick up the pieces
And thread them onto my loom

(v2)
A blanket of hearts
That's as wide as deep space
But can't stop the tears of earth dwellers
What shall we do
With you, Children of Men
Who've forgotten your origins are stellar?
What can we do
For you, oh my sweet dears
Trying to live bravely
With so many fears

Bridge
There's no end to weaving
My fingers are worn
The heart blanket's edges
Will never be sewn
And tears of the humans
Now blend with my own
But it's for the child's sake
That I ease the child's ache
As it falls with a sob into sleep
Its tiny hand clutching a corner
Of the invisible blanket
Of hearts that I keep

(Chorus)
I'm the keeper of hearts
A weaver of hearts
And alone by the light of the moon
I tenderly pick up the pieces
And thread them onto my loom

Outro
Some of you might feel me
Though my touch is light as air
As I brush my lips across your cheek
And hold the blanket there

Awwe great! I get to smash my gear, rip up my lyrics and jump off a roof tonight!  Thanks Billy and Donna.   >:D

Another incredibly beautiful peice of music.
Fantastic instrumentation and melody Billy.  Really well performed and produced.  Your range of talent is slightly disturbing,.. but well keep ya anyways. ;D

Another well penned story for lyric Donna.  I learn "how to" just by reading your posts.  I know how well your imagery conjures melody.  Awesome.

I don't know the singer but please forward my congrats.  She has amazing tone, pitch and texture.

What a great team.

Keep em comin!

Yes- this could easily be the soundtrack for an epic film.

Incredible performances from everyone - strong lyrical imagery, haunting vocals and everything knitted together by Master Billy.

We know we should expect no less - this is an awesome team :)

Has Billy switched from jazz to movie soundtracks? ;)

Very impressing - again. The female vocals are a little bit loud, but other than that: Great, no, amazing work!

  Steffen

Nawww....he's not just a single person , he's a persona made up by some students at a top London music School and they just release all their stuff under one name.  ;D

I like this  , mind you I like all of Billys stuff.  I was listening to some stuff on the Taxi forums ( they're free ) and the instumental bit reminds me of some work by a guy there who has bagged a gig writing for computer game scores.

CD

We never finish a mix... we simply abandon them.
You can't polish a turd, but you can always spray paint it GOLD
Great songs are not written, they are re-witten
