The finished songs seem to be flying in thick and fast - is everyone worn out yet ;)

This must have been one of the first songs I wrote..overcome after discovering a Dm7 chord I think.

I owe it to the guys - with their contributions they made this song sound much better than it actually is :).

Holger hit this out of the park with his vocals, he sings this style so well. Alberto played a nice sympathetic drums part. Billy played the lovely acoustic guitar, as well as the casual "strolling through the hyde park past the serpentine" guitar solo. Paulo added some nice keys shades on piano, organ and strings. Henry came in at the end to add nice little electric guitar fills. Finally Steffen in his usual watchful and sincere way, weaved it all together in a nice clean mix!!

Thanks again guys, this one's for you.

Andy

PS - Couple of mixes attached.

And That's Just Like You (lyric/music: Andy Gupta (c) 2012

Oh hello morning July skies
I would like to fly
Ride upon the clouds
As they lead me on to you
The sun will guide my way

Oh I'm so happy to have someone like you
You won't let me down
Show me the way so I can stay ok
And I could be with you

And I really love you
You'll be the one I'll cling to
I see the way you are every day
And that's just like you

- Solo-

Oh starry evening July skies
I would like to fly
Follow the stars
As they point my way home
The moon will guide my way

And I really love you
You'll be the one I'll sing to
I see the things that you do every day
And that's just like you
And that's just like you
And that's just like you
And that's just like you

The Hyde Park Boaters:

Holger "John L" Bremer : Lead vocals
Billy Playle: acoustic guitars, electric guitar solo
Henry Mittnatch: Electric guitar, fills
Paulo Gomes: Piano, Organ and Strings
Alberto "Ringo" Villa: Drums
Steffen Offermann: Mix/master

Thanks for posting both mixes, Andy! Version 07 is the definitive one for me! :)

A great little song indeed. Lovely music, great lyrics and performances. And, Andy, as you can see - your background vocals did work, didn't they?

Regards,
  Steffen

Andy is right... the songs are cruising into the finished forum at a rate not seen in quite some time, but the quality hasn't suffered a bit. :)

I absolutely love songs like this!! Holger, if you're able to find a George Harrison impersonator to accompany you, then Paul and Ringo might actually think of touring again. :) 8)

And we all know Andy owns a time machine... and travels back to the 60's quite often. ;) Is there room for 2 in that thing Andy. ^-^

I would have been proud just to be the Tambourine Man is this awesome band you have assembled here. :) :)
Damn it Jim! I'm a WRITER - not a Doctor!!

Hi John,

Thanks so much for the appreciative comments.

Yeah, I guess I like my retro rock I suppose :).

Tambourine huh - for my next similar sort of tune you're in on tambourine so its all not all over baby blue ;)

Wow! Thank you so much guys! Touring with Ringo and Paul...would be great but it would also be great or even better to go on tour with you guys! I often think about it when I listen to our tunes here. All those great songs should be played live and loud at stage in front of thousands.

thx
Holger

Hey! It could happen! ;D

"Hyde Park" i wondered where Billy was hiding... ::)

"Hey Aqualung"...let the pretty panties run!!! :o ;D >:D
