thank you to you all who helped me through the heavy process, I mean heavy... More than 440 replies, huh! Special thanks to CD for helping me to start the mixing process :)

Music: Era and Henry (Docmidnite)
Lyrics: Johnny
Vocals: Holger (Soulfrontier)
BG Vocals: Henry
Electric guitars: Era and Henry (solo + slide)
Ac. guitar: Era
Bass: Era
Orchestral samples: Era
Piano: Era
Drums: Raul (Figsounds)
Mixing: Era

I WANNA SAVE THE WORLD

1) I wanna save the world
I wanna save the world
I want food enough for ev'ry boy
and ev'ry single girl...
Looking up with hope in their eyes

2) I wanna save the world
O God, I wanna save the world
We need a human race
to repair this place
Beneath flags of love, unfurled

CHORUS
No warfare, no strife
No murder for land
A dignity for life,
both animal and man
"Why is this so hard to understand!"

BRIDGE
If the beating of a tiny wing
can make a hurricane blow
then ev'rything in-between
gets caught in the ebb & flow
Call me a child, i don't even care
i'll sing the song of a billion child prayer

SOLO

3) I wanna save the world
I wanna save the world
I know you're thinking, "foolish",
that world will never be
The truth is, that it's ev'rywhere, for free

CHORUS

OUTRO
"Why is this so hard to understand!"

Hey Era,

great song, it was a pleasure, thank you for letting me be a part of it! Turned out great.
Henry, great playing as always, love your solo! Raul great drumming mate. Johnny, John would say "yeah man, well done."  ;)

Thank you all my friends. I hope the people will enjoy this song. It was a lot of work, especially for Era himself.

Era, that was some monumental heavy lifting, my friend, your music sounds great!!! :)

Holg. beautiful vocals...again...IMO you saved this song (version) from wandering astray 8)

"Henry Golden Ears" thank you for putting your immense talents at our disposal...

Raul, Thank You, for coming on board when you did...very lovely work!

fellas, i appreciate you having me, and then putting up with my meddling!  ::)

the song sounds bigger and better than any one of us

cheers ^-^

PS. Era, Christina, you should add the bridge! (your style of course) but the whole bridge... 8)

Nice one. I can relate - there comes a time when you must abandon a song because you have worked too much on it. But you can always return to it later. I'm currently remixing lots of old songs, some of which are more than 5 years old. It's really satisfying to do that because I hear all the issues that I could not hear then, and I finally have the means to deal with them. :)

Anyway - this is a really nice song with great drums. Takes me back to the Eighties.

Regards,
  Steffen

Thanks Steffen. Happy that it translates right to you.. I have my musical roots in the 80's and I really tried to have an older feel in it. This is actually remaking of an older song of mine.

I use Logic. Rauls drums are made with IK plugins. 2 samples on original snare, toms, hihat and kick sampled. Toms samples (had all toms in one track) are panned in ultrabeat (logics drum machine). All Raul's original tracks are beefing the samples. Overheads for symbals, squeezed a lot. Everything goes more or less to drum plate verb, delay busses. I cant remember exactly, but i use ik's black 76 and 670 vintage compressors + classic tube compressor for one snare (widener)... Some mild automation... Wheew.. EQing mostly substractive approack, kick and snare are additive in their sweetest circles..

Nice song.  Sounds like you had quite a fight with this one !  ;D

Some songs are like that...you just gotta finish it , take some learnings and move on. Like Steffen said - come back in 5 years and see if you've progressed. Time gives great perspective.

CD

We never finish a mix... we simply abandon them.
You can't polish a turd, but you can always spray paint it GOLD
Great songs are not written, they are re-witten
