The software on Mac is no different price wise than on windows, but point taken on the hardware end of things, but you do get what you pay for ;)  and iMac wouldn't cut it for me as I use addon hardware in the form of PCI cards which you can't put in an iMac.

I have a dual G5 right now, and with luck in the near future I'll be upgrading to a quad core Xeon MacPro system. :D

Nah...Amiga mate
We never finish a mix... we simply abandon them.
You can't polish a turd, but you can always spray paint it GOLD
Great songs are not written, they are re-witten

Get out of here with you're Bars and Pipes , it was a pile of confusing Rubbish !

Music X is where it's at....especially Music X 2.

I never tried that one, bars and pipes was the only one I used ... then my buddy changed his setup to an ST for a brief time .. and then went to master tracks.  I spent many many years using master tracks on my mac classic and colur classic .. but I digress .. I think we've derailed this thread enough! :D Maybe we should start one about classic music apps and music systems hehe.

I am curious if any Sonar users are mastering with another software or hardware product or using plug ins with Sonar. Mark brings up an interesting point about possibly using my Ozone3 plugin with a host program other than Sonar for mastering.

Just curious what my options are and cost I guess.

+1 for sonar. 6 was a very complete package. With 7 they tightened it up more.

Do you have Sonar 7 yet then ???

TLs Pocket Limiter and Maximizer are two very good freebies for increasing volume.  In my tests I've been able to really crank the volume before I get noticable distortion.

Not a Sonar user, I'm with Nuendo but it doesn't matter anyway for your question. I do the recording and mixining in  Nuendo and I do the mastering process in Wavelab with Waves Plugins.
Live the best you can 'cause you're gonna be dead for a long time.
