Hi MCS,

I am proud to present another collaboration with Jay (HDA). This time on a tune, which to my mind, is halfway between rock and soul.

I was incredibly lucky to work with a band comprising of Jay, Bill and John. They transformed my rough demo into something else.

Jay - I cant thank you enough for your stellar work on the arrangement, the soulful vocals and the layers of keys which so complement the song. Bill - your guitar work is exemplary as always, dig that retro reverb sound, the sweet solo, and the soaring harmony guitars in the end. John - I have heard many great tracks from you, but the drums are so perfect, a beautifully balanced display of controlled power.

And then lastly but not in the least, NickT's seasoned mastering skills added that extra bit of polish the song needed.

Thanks for listening, and once again thanks guys!!

Andy

Jay Lamothe: Lead and backing vocals, Piano, Hammond Organ, Arrangement and Mix
Bill (r4m): All guitars, including solo
John Wooten: Drums
Andy Gupta: Arrangement, Bass
Nick Testa: Mastering

You Are The One (Who Matters The Most To Me)

Lyrics/Music: Andy Gupta, Additional Arrangement: Jay Lamothe (c) 2009, 2010

Intro: C/Em/F/A#7/C/G

C
There comes a t-i-me
Em
In everyone's l-i-fe
F                                              A#7
When one is through with counting blessings
                       C
One learns to be happy
                       G
With what one's got

C
Now I have reali-zed
Em
That I've been bl-i-nd
F                                           A#7
To the richness of (having) you around me
                     C
What a lot I've got
                    G
When I've got you....
                       F    Fm   C  G
And so I can tell you now

C               Am
You are the one
C               Am
You are the one
Em                   G          Em/    G/Am/Em/C
Who matters the most to me
C               Am
You are the one
C               Am
You are the one
Em                   G          Em/    G/Am/Em/C
Who matters the most to me

I can only express
A feeling of thankfulness
You stuck with me through good and bad times
And now it's time
To realize
And I must tell you now

Repeat Chorus

Am                                    F
And if there have been times when I've been unkind
C                              Dm
I may have appeared unfeeling
Am                                         Bflat
I was anaesthesized in a messed state of mind
     F             G#         C                 Dm      F                  G
But now I can see what I should have seen a long long time ago

You are the one
You are the one
Who matters the most to me
You are the one
You are the one
Who matters the most to me

Outro:
C
There comes a t-i-me
Em
In everyone's l-i-fe
F                                              A#7
When one is through with counting blessings

Andy;
Thanks for the opportunity.  This is yet another beautiful piece of writing and I thoroughly enjoyed being able to work on it.  This is also the first mix I've done that I was actually happy with the end result! ;)  A new wedding song classic me thinks!! :)  You are a really really talented writer and fluently melodic bass player!

Bill;
I ask,. and you deliver as per usual. :) Your textures brought this into a new realm,.. shades of blue rodeo possibly,.. and I love it.  Fix that puter man! ;D

John;
You absolutely sunk into the feel of the song and played it seemingly effortless.  There could not have been a better drum track!

Nick T;
I knew you could bring this sonicly to the place it needed to be.  Thank you so much!

This is about as good as it gets guys. A very professional, slick production and with such skillfull performances from all musicians/mixers.

Hey, is that David Cassidy on vocals? (that's a huge compliment) Well done Jay, brilliant!

Well done chaps!

Billy.
